PHP Digicam Database

Overview

This suite of scripts are designed to provide a way for people to place large quantities of pictures on the web in a categorized and organized fashion. It is especially useful for pictures taken on a digital camera, and is meant to be a "digital camera direct to web" piece of software. It automatically creates thumbnails and scaled down images and can automatically rotate pictures for you.

This application is NOT for the lazy person. It takes a bit of work to get it going, you have to enter categories, descriptions, and people for each picture before it will appear online. But this is also an advantage as once you do take the time to set up this application and populate it with pictures, the categorization is extremely useful. Since setting importing your pictures into this application can take a lot of time, I've tried to make it forgiving of getting lazy or bored, in other words, if you are in the middle of importing a directory of pictures, the application will know how far along you have gotten, allowing you to resume at a later time, while showing online the pictures that you got through. This script is far from finished, a to do list is included in the README. Features will be added depending on user response and demand. Fell free to email me suggestions.
